Walt Copley, Ph.D.

Walt Copley, Ph.D.Global Faculty Member,Walt Copley, PhD received his Master of Arts from the University of Oklahoma in Public Administration with a focus on Police Operations. He received his Doctor of Philosophy at Colorado State University which concentrated on Education Administration with emphasis on Criminal Justice Education. He spent 22 years in the U.S. Air Force, serving first as an electronic technician, then as a technical, criminal, and counterintelligence investigator at locations throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. While still on active duty, he taught courses for the Royal Air Force Counterintelligence School and Harford Community College and consulted with Scotland Yard on operations regarding the IRA. Following retirement from the Air Force in 1976, he taught for 25 years in the criminal justice programs at several colleges in Colorado. In addition to a tour as Criminal Justice Department Chairman at Metropolitan State College of Denver, he offered the original online course there and has conducted online courses at two colleges since 1991. He has published papers and has spoken at national and international conventions on a range of topics in online education, police administration, and police education.
