Computer Science - Adjunct
Position Description
Grantham University is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses in the following subject areas:
- Programming in C
- Programming in C++
- Programming in Java
- Programming in HTML
- E-Commerce
- Database Applications
Adjunct faculty in the above named areas must possess at least a Master’s Degree and 18 Semester hours of Graduate work in the specific discipline they wish to teach. A Doctorate in the specific field would be desirable.
Grantham University supplies all textbooks, assignments, syllabi, and some examinations. However, faculty are encouraged to supplement existing assignments, and examinations with topics and measurements they feel best determine a student’s mastery of the coursework. All courses , assignments, etc are completed within our Learning Management System, called Angel. Within Angel, adjunct faculty are required to keep regularly scheduled office hours and are also expected to log into the system three out of four days of a week to post items on discussion boards, answer student e-mails etc. All faculty will be provided Angel Training if they are not familiar with the system.
Currently, all Grantham courses are 56 days in length and start every Wednesday. Students and faculty are expected to have all of the coursework completed to include exams etc. in that time period. Rarely, are any extensions granted.
