Transfer Credit Policy

Grantham awards advanced standing to qualified applicants. Prior college, military experience, employer courses, and equivalency exams such as CLEP may be used to obtain credit in lieu of course and credit hour requirements.

Grantham awards credit on a course-by-course basis. Grantham awards credits for courses with equivalent content and value as the corresponding Grantham course(s), and for which the student earned a grade of C or higher.

Grantham is guided by the credit recommendations of the American Council on Education (www.acenet.edu ) in its evaluations of military training and testing-service examinations.

You must request an evaluation of your college coursework prior to enrollment. To request an evaluation, select “Enroll me now and evaluate my transfer credits” on page 3 of the Enrollment Agreement. To request an evaluation before enrolling, select “Evaluate my transfer credits” on page 3 of the Enrollment Agreement. The Admissions Office can be reached by e-mailing admissions@grantham.edu or by calling (800) 955-2527.

The following documentation will be needed as appropriate to the student:

  • A copy of all high school transcripts or high school diploma and college transcripts
  • Employer course certificates with description of course contents and list of class hours
  • Military personnel should include a Sailor/Marine American Council on Education Registry Transcript (SMART), Coast Guard Institute (CGI), Army American Council on Education Registry Transcript System (AARTS) or Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) transcript

DANTES Score Report - School Code: 8473

CLEP Score Report - School Code: 2244

Army ACE Registry Transcript (AARTS)

Marine/Navy ACE Registry Transcript (SMART)

You may send copies of transcripts or documents for the evaluation; however, official transcripts or documentation and verification of statements will be required within the first year of enrollment. An official transcript is one mailed directly from the Registrar of the educational institution to Grantham University. Documents submitted by prospective students will not be returned.

After the evaluation is completed, an Evaluation Representative will prepare a custom curriculum of the remaining courses necessary for graduation.
