Grantham University Named Top University for Veterans

Kansas City, Mo. – November 16, 2010 – Grantham University, an online university dedicated to providing educational opportunities to working adults, has been named a top university for veterans in a recent list compiled by Military Times EDGE. 4,000 institutions of higher learning were invited to submit information about their veterans programs, policies and resources, and then the top 100 schools were named in the “Best for Vets: Colleges 2010” list.

Colleges and universities were evaluated on four criteria: financial assistance, academic flexibility, campus culture, and support services. Grantham University received four and a half out of five stars for academic flexibility and four stars for financial assistance.

“We have been meeting the educational needs of veterans, service members and their families for six decades,” said Dr. Hoss, President of Grantham University. “We are proud to be a part of this esteemed group of colleges and universities as a Best for Vets university.”

Grantham University, which celebrates its 60th anniversary on January 2, was founded in 1951 by Donald Grantham, a veteran of World War II, to help prepare veterans for new jobs in the electronics’ industry and a better future upon their return to civilian life. Over the years, the University transitioned from a “brick and mortar” school with several campuses across the United States to a 100% online university located in Kansas City, MO.

Because Grantham University’s online degree programs combine an e-classroom that is available anywhere you have internet access with flexible log-in times, it is one of the few schools able to serve America’s finest not only when they are at home, but also while they are deployed on active duty throughout the world.  The University offers numerous military scholarship programs, an interactive online learning environment and a solid student support structure to ensure that all service members have the opportunity to earn an undergraduate or graduate degree.
