Grantham University Career Center Holds Webinar on Professional Portfolios

Kansas City, Mo. – February 21, 2011 – Grantham University, an online university serving working adult students around the world for over 60 years, announced today that its Career Center is hosting a Webinar about Professional Portfolios on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. Central Time. The Webinar will cover topics such as: the benefits of having a professional portfolio and what items should be included in the portfolio.

Recent screening tests from ADP found that 54% of job applicants submitted false information on their resumes. Employers are catching these misrepresentations during background checks, so the burden of proof falls upon the applicant to demonstrate what they have accomplished, and the best method do this is through the use of a Professional Portfolio.

“The competition in today’s employment market is intense, so applicants need to find a way to stand out and highlight their accomplishments; the professional portfolio does just that,” said Ms. Shanna Fowler, career services coordinator at Grantham University.

The Webinar on Professional Portfolios will be held on March 3, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. Central Time.  Space is limited; so interested attendees should RSVP to careerresources@grantham.edu by 5:00 p.m. on March 1, 2011.  Be sure to include your name and primary e-mail address in the RSVP.
