March 8, 2007 - Grantham University, an online university specializing in educating working adults, today announced its Academic Dean, Greg Garcia, Ed.D., was elected as the Board Secretary of The Council of College and Military Educators (CCME). CCME is the only national organization for professional military educators.
"Grantham University has a long history of providing education to service members," said Greg Garcia, Academic Dean of Grantham University. "We began serving uniformed members with engineering courses half a century ago. As we expanded and modernized our online programs, we worked hard to lend positive support to CCME's efforts."
CCME's membership is composed of military educators, civilian educators, post secondary educational institutions and suppliers of quality education products and services. CCME is a coalition of educational institutions and military organizations that provide a forum for the exchange of information and mutual support for the improvement of educational opportunities for the military community.
Grantham University offers online undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, General Studies, Computer Science, and other technology related fields. Grantham's degree programs are flexible and self-paced, allowing students to complete their course work at times and places that fit their busy schedules.
"For me, being a part of CCME means being a part of something that's good and important, and that makes a huge contribution to the men and women of our armed services," adds Garcia. "Both Grantham University and CCME are doing their best to serve those who serve us."
Grantham's faculty, administration, and advisors are comprised of educators, business executives, industry professionals and entrepreneurs. Among the advisors are Dr. Herbert I. London, founder, endowed chair, and former Dean of Students at New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study; and Dr. Mark Skousen, chairman of www.investmentU.com, economist, financial advisor, author, and economics professor at Columbia University's Barnard College.
