December 5, 2007 - Grantham University (www.grantham.edu), specializing in educating working adults, today announced that it would award Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3) Kevin Monio (Ret.) one of 54 Army National Guard Scholarships.  CW3 Monio, a member of the Army National Guard for 27 years, served with the 1256th Medical Company in St. Paul, Minn.  CW3 Monio will be awarded the scholarship in a presentation at 4 p.m. on Friday, December 7 at the Holman Airfield, 206 Airport Road in St. Paul.

“Grantham’s scholarship came at the right time in my life,” said CW3 Monio. “I retired from the Guard last year after 27 and one-half years of service.  I’m planning on forwarding myself in my civilian career by pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice at Grantham.”

In conjunction with GX® magazine, a nationwide publication for members of the National Guard and their families, Grantham University provided one full, four-year scholarship to an Army National Guard member in each of the 50 states and four U.S. territories including DC, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.  The scholarship, valued at approximately $34,000, covers: tuition costs, required textbooks and software.
