December 19, 2007 - SGT. SCOTT CSANADI, who serves with the 3175th Military Police Co. in Warrenton, was awarded a scholarship to Grantham University on Dec. 2.

The scholarship was presented by Grantham University and GX(R) magazine, a publication for National Guard members. The scholarship is valued at about $34,000. It covers tuition, textbooks and software.

Grantham University, at www.grantham.edu, is an online university that caters to people in the military, government and law enforcement workers and adultCsanadi said he was looking for an online course to take while he was serving in Afghanistan. He came across an ad for the scholarship and wrote a 500-word essay.

"Grantham's scholarship gives me the opportunity to finish my education without worrying about the financial obligation," Csanadi said. "Grantham's online program works great for me because I sustained injuries while serving in Afghanistan. I can study and work from home at my convenience."
