Eligibility Requirements for Federal Student Aid
To be eligible for Federal Student Aid (FSA) at Grantham, you must meet the following criteria:
- Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Demonstrate financial need (as determined by the need analysis process), except for certain loan programs
- Have a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a regular student working toward a degree in an eligible program (note:Grantham does not participate in any study abroad programs that can be applied towards enrollment for the purposes of calculating financial assistance eligibility)
- Have a valid Social Security Number
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Register with the Selective Service (males, age 18-25)
- Not in default on a federal student loan or owe repayment of an FSA grant
- Not convicted under federal or state law of possession or sale of illegal drugs while receiving FSA
- Provide the Office of Financial Aid any additional requested documentation
- Notify the Office of Financial Aid of any changes in enrollment status and any additional sources of financial aid received
- Repay any financial aid received as a result of inaccurate information (Any person who intentionally misrepresents facts on the application violates federal law and may be subject to a $20,000 fine and/or imprisonment)
