Career Support for You: Grantham’s Career Services FAQs
By Lisa Sietstra February 3, 2021
At Grantham University, our primary goal is student success—and that continues well beyond the virtual classroom.
One of our most beneficial features in helping you achieve your career ambitions is our Career Services team, who is eager to support you at every step of your career journey. But how can you best take advantage of their services?
Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions that we get:
Q: What does Career Services do?
The Career Services team at Grantham is dedicated to helping students identify career goals, prepare for the job market, land the job, and negotiate offers.
Q: What services can I use?
We can help you define your career direction, create (or revise) your resume and online presence, build a professional network, develop (and show off) relevant experience, find opportunities, prepare for salary negotiation, and more. We’ll even help you practice with mock interviews!
Q: Do I need an appointment?
You can benefit from archived resources like webinars, blogs and podcast episodes, and transition guides for military students seeking civilian careers—all accessible 24/7 on the web—in addition to receiving one-on-one support.
Q: How do I get one-on-one support?
Our Career Services Specialists will work with you via email, phone, or video meetings to help you set (and meet) your individual goals. Just contact us and we’ll schedule something that works for you!
Q: How often can I contact Career Services?
As often as you want! There is no limit to how many times you can meet with Career Services. We’re here to help you find your dream job while you study at Grantham University and after graduation. Whenever students or alumni need us, we’ll be here.
Q: What is the difference between Career Services and my student advisor?
While we’re both committed to helping you find success, your student advisor typically offers support related to your time at Grantham—from registration and tutoring to time management and staying motivated. Career Services is focused solely on helping you prepare for the job market ahead of you.
Q: What happens after I graduate?
Grantham’s Career Services team is here for you whether you’ve just enrolled or are a seasoned alum. We will help you with all your career questions even after you’ve graduated.

You can reach out to the Career Services team directly via email (careerservices@grantham.edu) or phone (800-955-2527 ext. 173). You can also connect with us on LinkedIn, where we have an alumni group just for Grantham students and graduates: There, we share even more advice, opportunities, resources, and networking.
Q: Where should I start?
