More Than 60 Degree Options Now Available at Grantham!
Grantham University is committed to offering relevant programs that help students earn their degrees and achieve their career goals, which is why we’re so excited to announce four new online programs added just last month!
These programs join an already diverse selection of certificate, associate, bachelor’s and master’s options. With the addition of these programs, Grantham students can choose from more than 60 online programs across computer science, healthcare, business, criminal justice and more.
Medical Administrative Assistant
The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Medical Administrative Assistant (MAA) degree program provides a strong foundation in medical office skills, allowing graduates to pursue a variety of administrative roles within the healthcare field.
The healthcare industry is evolving rapidly, and medical administrative assistants are crucial to keeping things smoothly and efficiently. The AAS-MAA program helps students prepare to manage health information and electronic records, understand and use diagnosis and procedure coding systems, and so much more. Graduates often work as medical secretaries or receptionists, medical records and health information technicians, or—of course—medical administrative assistants.
The AAS-MAA program is offered by Grantham’s College of Health Professions and requires 60 credit hours, which typically takes two years to complete. After you’ve completed the program, you may choose to sit for the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam, an industry certification from the National Healthcareer Association, or pursue a more advanced degree program in a similar field.
Multidisciplinary Studies
If you have a large number of transfer credits—or aren’t totally sure what you want to major in—the Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies program could be the perfect fit for you. In this 38-month program, students are able to customize their course load and get exposure to a variety of different subjects. Many students choose to focus on two distinct disciplines and then use skills from both areas to pursue specialized or niche career paths. For example, students in the program may choose to study both computer science and communications, which could help prepare them for a career in digital marketing.
The multidisciplinary studies program is offered by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and requires 120 credit hours to complete.
Nursing Education
Nurses are often the backbone of medical, wellness and healthcare facilities—and Grantham’s new Nursing Education graduate certificate program can help them create an even greater impact on patients, communities and fellow nurses.
With courses in advanced physical assessment, organizational dynamics, and information security and privacy, this graduate certificate program prepares nurses for educator roles in both clinical and higher education settings. It may also satisfy continuing education requirements or help prepare you for other advanced degrees.
The program requires 18 credit hours and takes approximately 12 months to complete. It is offered by Grantham’s College of Nursing and its courses can be easily transferred into Grantham’s full Master of Science in Nursing – Nursing Education graduate certificate program.
Nursing Leadership and Organizational Management
Another graduate certificate option for nurses is the new Nursing Leadership and Organizational Management program. This certificate program includes courses on human resources and nursing management, leadership in healthcare organizations, and strategic management and planning—all with a focus on emerging trends and 21st century leadership skills. It’s designed to prepare nurses for roles as clinical directors, nurse managers, nursing home administrators and other nursing management roles.
The Nursing Leadership and Organizational Management program can also satisfy employers’ continuing education requirements or help prepare you for other advanced degrees. In fact, if you’re looking to eventually earn an MSN, the courses taken in the graduate certificate program can be transferred into Grantham’s full Master of Science in Nursing – Nursing Management & Organizational Leadership graduate certificate program.
With these new programs, Grantham students have even more options when it comes to choosing the right degree program for their future. Ready to get started and make your career dreams a reality? Contact us today.
