Celebrating 100% Online Programs at UA Grantham

Distance education is definitely not a new trend, but online degree programs are certainly no fad. In fact, they’ve become a mainstay in a rapidly changing world, and the first choice for many students who need more flexibility.

In the wake of a global pandemic, global changes in how we live and work, virtual learning is a critical tool for anyone seeking a new path or advancement in their career. It’s in honor of all of these students and changes that we celebrate National Online Learning Day.

A Legacy of Virtual Education

Online learning eliminates many of the most common obstacles students face when deciding whether to pursue higher education. Without a campus to go to, there’s no commute to worry about. There’s flexibility in scheduling, making it easier to manage professional and familial responsibilities while keeping up with coursework. Online course materials make it possible to go back and rewatch lectures or revisit discussion threads, improving understanding of complex concepts.

But all online education programs are not the same, of course. And while many schools scrambled to make virtual options available in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, University of Arkansas Grantham has been a pioneer of online learning for decades.

Founded in 1951 by Donald Grantham, a World War II veteran, UA Grantham has always been dedicated to providing education to those who have served (or are currently serving) in the military. In the following years, UA Grantham earned accreditation by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), then adopted a distance learning model for all programs, and recently joined the University Arkansas System which provides UA Grantham and its students with access to more support and more opportunities in higher education. Since then, UA Grantham has continued to expand its program offerings and remained on the cutting edge of online education capabilities.

Today, UA Grantham offers a wide range of certificate, associate, bachelor’s and master’s online programs that allow students to meet nearly any educational or career goal.

The UA Grantham Difference

One of the biggest benefits to getting a virtual education at University of Arkansas Grantham rather than attending an on-campus school is the flexibility we offer. UA Grantham’s online programs are designed specifically to help working adults invest in their futures through higher education. We have all the student services you’d expect from a traditional school but through easy-to-use virtual platforms. UA Grantham students are able to set their own schedule and complete coursework whenever and wherever it’s convenient, making it possible to keep up with their professional duties, help their kids with their own schoolwork and keep living their lives no matter what else is going on in the world.

Over the past few years, many traditional universities have been forced to switch to an online format—but they are still requiring students to log in and attend lectures at certain times. Many of these schools do not have the capabilities or infrastructure to support online learning and simply cannot provide the same flexibility and breadth of services you will find at UA Grantham.
You don’t have to settle for an online degree program that only offers the course materials in a digital format to work through on your own. UA Grantham has created a best-in-class experience for students seeking an online program in a supportive environment.

The UA Grantham Experience

Offering course lectures, videos, discussions and other materials online certainly makes a college education more accessible and flexible for adult students. But what about the other important aspects of higher education?

Because UA Grantham is a fully online university, all of its services and support resources that students rely on to be successful are also offered online. Our student advisors are eager to help each student locate throughout their educational journey, and no student is expected to complete their program on their own.

From admissions and financial aid to tutoring and career services, UA Grantham students have access to the same support services as traditional, on-campus students. The Learning Center provides study tips, webinars, workshops, technology help and more, including no-cost online tutoring services that are available 24/7 for many courses.

Our Career Services team helps students—current and alumni—focus on their career goals. The team can assist in learning how to network, building a professional online presence, improving your résumé, practicing interview skills and more.

UA Grantham is proud to support students of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life—and that means we’re constantly working to evolve the services and programs we offer to help them find success. Are you ready to begin your own online education venture? We can’t wait to talk to you!
