On May 22nd, a lethal twister made national news. As we watched our televisions in astonishment, we learned that a tornado ripped through Joplin, Missouri, leaving a trail of devastation, injuries, and fatalities. Having survived Hurricane Katrina in 2005, we as a University identify with the victims of Joplin, and Grantham employees were immediately asking what they could do to help. Because Joplin is less than three hours away from Grantham, this record setting tornado hits close to home and weighs heavily on the hearts of each and every one of us.

Together, Grantham employees have raised $830.00 to aid in the Joplin disaster relief effort.  In addition, many employees are donating to other charities, local drives and fundraising efforts.  Grantham University recognizes the importance of giving back and will continue to reach out to those in need.
