Q: What are your responsibilities at Grantham?
A: I am a Life Changer in the Admissions Department. I help people set goals for their life and assist people with the admissions process from start to finish.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your position?
A: The thing I like best about working at Grantham is the opportunity to work with military members.
Q: Are you taking any classes at Grantham?
A: Yes. I am currently enrolled in a master’s degree program in Performance Improvement. I like the kind of specialization the degree delves into. I am also working on a Master in Education at Cappella University.
Q: Based on your experience, what advice do you have for students?
A: My advice to students is to take time to readjust to the learning mentality. I also want students to know that there is a lot of support for them here.
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment at Grantham?
A: My proudest accomplishment at Grantham came when I recently enrolled a student into a master’s degree program. He started on December 31, 2010 and is about to graduate, possibly as early as May 2011! This student was injured in a road side bombing while deployed. He is now recovering in a hospital in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. During his recovery, he wanted to start and finished his MBA. He is a true inspiration!
Q: What are your activities and interests outside of work?
A: I’m a soccer mom; I run everywhere. I have two kids, Cory, who is 8 years old, and Bella, who is 15 months.
Q: What is one interesting fact about yourself?
A: I have a true passion for education.
Q: Anything else?
A: I have lived in Kansas City for five years and am originally from Florida.
Q: What keeps you coming back to Grantham each day?
A: The students, the faculty and the fun!
