Kansas City, Mo. – November 9, 2012 Grantham University’s, honorary dean of the Skousen School of Business, Dr. Mark Skousen, kicked off the 2012 Global Entrepreneurship Week at the Kansas City Central Library on Wednesday with a presentation on “Benjamin Franklin: Founding Father of American Entrepreneurship.”

Franklin is easily one of the most fascinating of our nation’s Founding Fathers – a polymath like Jefferson, a practical statesman like Washington, and a cynic and wit with no parallel. In addition to these defining characteristics, Franklin was also a business man.

Dr. Skousen has devoted years to researching Franklin and has authored three volumes on the subject: The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, The Completed Biography by Benjamin Franklin, and The Wit and Wisdom of Benjamin Franklin.

Franklin’s successes are so legendary that his book, The Way to Wealth, is still in print more than 200 years later, and has been through 1,300 editions.

Dr. Skousen, who was recently name one of the top 20 most influential living economists by SuperScholar.org, is a former economist with the Central Intelligence Agency, and has taught economics at Columbia School of Business, Barnard College, and Columbia University. He has held the position of honorary dean at Grantham University since 2005 when the business school was named after him.

The Skousen School of Business, a division of Grantham University, offers online degrees in a variety programs including accounting, business administration, business management, and performance improvement. For more information, visit: www.grantham.edu or call 800-955-2527.
