Grantham Student Gillespie graduates from Army Sergeant Major Academy

He joined the United States Army in 1989 as a Multichannel Telecommunications Operator and attended Basic Combat Training (BCT) AT Fort Jackson, SC and Advance Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Gordon, GA in 1990.

Sgt. Maj. Gillespie’s previous assignments include Operations NCOIC, 324th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, Fort Gordon, GA; First Sergeant & SR Operations NCO, HQ 2nd Brigade, 100th Training Division, Camp Parks, CA; First Sergeant, A company, 98th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, Fort Shafter, HI; G2/3 Sergeant Major, 311th Signal Command (Theater), Fort Shafter, HI; Operations NCO, 558th Signal Company, Camp Victory, Iraq; Operations NCO, 558th Signal Company, Maineville, OH; SR Transmission Operations NCO, Coalition Land Forces Component Command (CFLCC) C-6, Camp Doha, Kuwait; other assignments include 335th Signal Command, Kuwait; 359th Signal Brigade, Fort Gordon, GA; 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, TX; 307th Signal Battalion, Camp Carroll, Korea; John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center, Fort Bragg, NC; 18TH Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, NC; 101st Airborne Division, Desert Shield/Storm.
