Lenexa, Kan. — May 3, 2014 — It has officially been spring for just over a month, and already the South and Midwest have endured several devastating storms. As an online university with students across the country, Grantham University’s family has been affected by the recent rash of tornadoes and floods.
To help alleviate the burden, Grantham is actively reaching out to its students and helping those affected through this difficult time. Each student’s situation is unique, so Grantham’s student advisors are working one-on-one to determine the best way for the student to successfully continue his or her education. Students have a few options open to them such as delaying the start of a course or asking for an extension on an assignment. Instructors are working with impacted students who are currently enrolled in courses to revise deadlines and provide extra time to complete assignments.
“Students choose to attend Grantham because we allow them the flexibility needed to fit education into their lives,” said Dr. Cheryl Hayek, chief academic officer. “Sometimes that flexibility extends beyond the work-life balance due to extenuating circumstances. When that happens, we try to help in any way we can.”
Grantham University has been helping working adults around the world achieve their educational goals for more than 63 years. To learn more about Grantham and its accredited online degrees and certificate programs, visit: http://www.grantham.edu/online-degree/.
