Lindsey StreeterLENEXA, Kan. – Grantham University, a leading provider of fully online college degrees and certificate programs, has appointed alumnus Lindsey Streeter, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Bank of America, as the newest member of its Board of Governors. With the addition of Streeter, the Board now has six members with varied higher education, career and leadership experience.

“We are excited to have such a passionate alumnus serving on the Board of Governors,” said Dr. Herbert London, Chairman of the Board. “He brings such a wonderful – and critical – perspective to the Board as a former Grantham student, military veteran and corporate executive. More than 15,000 students rely on Grantham each year for quality education that will further their professional and personal endeavors. Lindsey’s insight and innovative spirit will be exceptional contributions to the Board’s charter to ensure this excellence in Grantham’s programs. ”

Grantham’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Scott Andrews, also underscores Streeter’s significance as a Grantham alum. “Lindsey embodies the qualities, challenges and goals typified by the adult learner Grantham serves. He has been in the shoes of our students, and has a keen understanding of what it takes to earn a current, quality education, even amidst a busy work life,” said Andrews. “His first-hand experience will prove invaluable for Grantham and ultimately, our students and alumni. We look forward to the fresh ideas, perspectives and guidance sure to come from Lindsey.”

Streeter graduated from Grantham University with a Master of Science in Performance Improvement – one of Grantham’s most sought-after degrees. Before joining Bank of America in his current position, Streeter served more than 30 years of military service in the U.S. Army, retiring in 2016.

During his time with the U.S. Army, Streeter was selected by a panel to leave his position as Battalion Command Sergeant Major and serve as the Commandant of a Noncommissioned Officer’s Academy. In this role, he was responsible for the training and development of 7,000 emerging Army leaders. Two years later, he was asked to serve as the program analyst for the Department of the Army’s Sexual Harassment Assault Response and Prevention program.

“I am proud to give back to Grantham University and its students by serving on the Board of Governors,” said Streeter. “Earning a graduate degree from Grantham University gave me the knowledge and skills I needed to not only rise in the ranks of military service, but also to transition into a position of leadership in the corporate world. Being able to offer input and help Grantham continue to develop and deliver critical programs for future graduates and leaders is a gratifying, exciting opportunity.”

Because of his dedication to academic and professional success, Streeter was also named Grantham University’s 2017 Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) Outstanding Graduate of the Year. This award recognizes the significant accomplishments of graduates who earned their degrees through distance education. Streeter was later the alumni speaker at Grantham’s 2017 Commencement ceremony in Kansas City, Mo., in August.

Grantham University’s independent Board of Governors operates under the by-laws and charter of the University and has complete oversight of all programmatic components of Grantham University. For more information on Grantham University, please visit our website:
