By Laura Barker
LENEXA, Kan. November 20, 2020 — Online education pioneer Grantham University recently entered into an educational partnership with Chesapeake Regional Healthcare. Serving the people of southeast Virginia and northeast North Carolina, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is an independent healthcare system that aims to provide high quality, technologically advanced care to its patients. The partnership will provide a number of educational benefits to Chesapeake Regional Healthcare employees and their spouses and children (of any age).
Under the agreement, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare employees, spouses and children (of any age) can benefit from Grantham’s unique Heroes Program, which includes reduced $250 per credit hour tuition for Grantham’s more than 60 undergraduate- and graduate-level degree and certificate programs, complimentary textbooks and software, waived technology fees and more. Plus, a no-cost Prior Learning Assessment, a professional development session and career guidance are available.
“Healthcare workers are the epitome of what it means to be a hero, especially now, during this pandemic,” said George Colon, Grantham University’s director of university outreach. “Chesapeake Regional Healthcare staff deserve the opportunity to grow—professionally and personally—while we navigate these challenging times.”
This new partnership is one of over 50 similar agreements in which Grantham has engaged. Those agreements have been formed with various corporations, associations, colleges and community organizations in the region, as well as across the nation.
“Grantham’s online convenience is ideal for Chesapeake Regional Healthcare employees, as well as any working professionals who want to pursue a higher education but need a more flexible scheduling option,” said Colon. “We also offer live tutoring and dedicated support to help ensure their success through graduation and beyond.”
