Kansas City, Mo. – June 24, 2010 – Grantham University, an online university dedicated to providing educational opportunities to working adults for over 60 years, announced that it has awarded $7,000.00 in scholarships through the Imagine America Foundation's (IAF) Military Award Program.  Connie Lucas, Erica Byrd, Jenifer Zitzke, John Meyer, Stephen Frison, Tywaren Johnson, and Woodrow Ishman each received a $1,000.00 scholarship to be applied to their tuition at Grantham University.

"We are pleased to award these scholarships to such a deserving group," said Johanna Altland, director of communications and chair of Grantham University's IAF Scholarship Committee.  "Each of these recipients has served or is serving in our nation's armed forces, and it is an honor to give back to those who have given so much and to continue the University's tradition of meeting the educational needs of service members and veterans."

Each applicant was required to complete an essay on the topic, "Why should you receive a Grantham University IAF Military Award Program scholarship?"  While the responses were very different, the scholarship recipients all shared a common drive and motivation to complete their undergraduate or graduate degree.
