Grantham University Celebrates 70 Years
By Brandon Swenson
Lenexa, Kan. Grantham University, an accredited online university, is celebrating its 70th anniversary in January 2021. Founded in 1951 by WWII veteran Donald Grantham, Grantham University provides online higher education for all adult learners, including our nation’s service members and veterans for whom the university was established. Throughout its 70 years, Grantham has been on a mission to do more. To increase access to a more affordable, quality education and to level the playing field of higher education.
Grantham’s commitment to “serving those who serve” extends beyond academia to service within the community. In 2020, Grantham University employees raised and donated more than $50,000 in grants to assist 18 local charity organizations. Also last year, the university launched new in-demand academic programs, received additional programmatic recognition from accrediting bodies, introduced comprehensive career services programs, and further elevated its engagement with not only the active military and veteran communities, but first responders and frontline healthcare workers, as well.
“We are proud to show our appreciation to so many who give back to our communities; whether they are military, veteran, first responders, frontline healthcare workers, or local charities,” said Lindsay Bridgeman, Grantham University Interim President. “Comprehensive, dedicated support is engrained in the culture of our university. We take great pride in giving each student the individualized help they need to achieve their goals, in giving back to the communities that surround us, and in continuing the rich history that began more than 70 years ago.”
