Grantham University, which relocated to Kansas City from the Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina, will give full scholarships to a Slidell/New Orleans resident and KC resident

Lenexa, Kan. – August 26, 2015Grantham University, a 100% online university serving working adults, veterans and active-duty military students around the world, today announced a KC Appreciation Scholarship for an undergraduate or graduate degree. The scholarship is in commemoration of the University’s 10th anniversary in Kansas City, and the support it continues to receive from the community.

In similar fashion, Grantham is also offering a Resiliency Scholarship to the St. Tammany Parish, La., area, where it was located for 15 years leading up to the Katrina devastation on August 29, 2005. Immediately following the hurricane, Grantham relocated to Kansas City to continue serving its students located around the globe.

“We have a deep and abiding affection for the Kansas City community, and the Kansas City scholarship is one small way of demonstrating our gratitude for the warmth and support extended to our University over the past 10 years,” said Steve Waldron, Grantham University Chief Operating Officer. “By providing this gift of quality higher education, our hope is that we are also playing an important role in the future of an individual who will in turn use that education for the greater good of this vibrant community.”

Both Kansas City and St. Tammany Parish scholarships are one-time, full scholarships to earn an undergraduate or graduate degree or certificate, valued up to $38,600 each (inclusive of tuition, textbooks, software and fees). The KC Appreciation Scholarship will be awarded to an applicant who demonstrates a solid commitment to selflessly serving the Kansas City community and who meets the eligibility requirements.
