Kansas City, Mo. – December 9, 2010 – Grantham University, an online university dedicated to providing educational opportunities to working adults for over 60 years, has been named a top military-friendly university in Military Advanced Education's (MAE) 4th Annual Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities. Established in 1951 by a veteran for veterans, Grantham University has been meeting the educational needs of service members, veterans and military families for over 60 years.
"Our nation's service members, veterans and military families are near and dear to the hearts of everyone at the University," said Dr. Cynthia Hoss, Provost of Grantham University. "We are focused on maintaining flexible online degrees and policies that support the mission of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Coast Guardsmen, Marines and their families."
With the launch of the Post-9/11 GI Bill last year, the number of educational programs that service members and veterans have to choose from has increased exponentially. Narrowing down the list to just one university can be overwhelming, which is where this guide comes into play. It provides a convenient way for service members to learn more about the institutions that are dedicated to meeting their unique educational needs.
Colleges and universities included in the 4th Annual Guide were evaluated on military-friendly policies, military enrollments and the availability of scholarship programs for active duty, guard, reserve, veterans and military family members.
Military Advanced Education is the only publication that links Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Coast Guardsmen and Marines with military-friendly colleges and universities. The 4th Annual Guide to Military Friendly Colleges and Universities will be featured in its December issue.
