By Brandon Swenson
Lenexa, Kan., December 3, 2019 — Grantham University, an online university, announced that it has been named a Military Times ‘Best for Vets: College 2020’ school. Institutions were evaluated in five categories: university culture, student support, academic policies, academic outcomes/quality, and cost and financial aid, with culture and student support carrying the greatest weight.
“We are honored to be recognized for our ongoing work with veterans,” said Dr. Anthony R. Petroy, interim president, provost and chief academic officer of Grantham University. “A part of Grantham’s mission is to make education accessible to all, but particularly to those who have served our nation and their families. It’s important for military veterans who are choosing a university to focus on the overall support the college offers to military veterans and to select the right university and right degree program.”
Higher education institutions across the U.S. were invited to fill out a detailed survey containing around 150 questions about their operations involving current and former service members and their families. Surveys were based on a 12-month unduplicated headcount for 2018-19 school year. Nearly half (45 percent) of Grantham University’s 2018-19 enrollment was comprised of military and veterans.
