Grantham University has announced the selection of David Marker, Ph.D., as the Dean of the Mark Skousen School of Business at Grantham University.
Lenexa, Kan. – April 22, 2016 – Grantham University has announced the selection of David Marker, Ph.D., as dean of the Mark Skousen School of Business. The university is a 65-year-old institution delivering accredited online degree programs to working adults and active-duty military and veteran students around the world, and focuses on providing affordable higher education for adult learners.
“I am looking forward to continuing on the path our previous dean and current associate provost, Dr. Niccole Buckley, established,” said Marker. “We have recently received accreditation from the International Assembly for Collegiate Business (IACBE). We are also revamping our undergraduate business degrees and have recently initiated a plan for qualified students to accelerate their progress in our MBA programs. We have a true commitment to helping students achieve the level of academic success they seek.”
Marker brings a tremendous amount of experience to the position and has been a Grantham University faculty member since May 2013. Early in his professional life, he spent nearly 17 years helping to build a small business. He then returned to school to pursue an academic career. He received his master’s degree (Business – Organizational Behavior) and Ph.D. (Business – Organizational Theory) from the University of Kansas.
Marker is a lifetime member of Beta Gamma Sigma and has taught at large public universities and at small private schools. He has consulted in the United States, Europe, and Asia, with multi-national corporations, small-local businesses, and non-profit organizations. His area of expertise is in strategy development and implementation, business intelligence, organizational design, and executive counselling. Dr. Marker has lectured, presented research papers in many different countries and completed 16 publications (including books, chapters, and journal articles).
Originally from Topeka, Kansas, and prior to joining Grantham University, he spent more than 12 years working at the École Supérieure de Commerce (ESC) - Clermont Ferrand, France. While at the ESC-Clermont, he earned tenure, was promoted to full professor, was director of several master’s programs, and was dean of a faculty of more than 50 full-time professors and more than 100 adjunct professors. The school earned AACSB accreditation and was consistently ranked by The Financial Times among the top business schools in Europe.
