The agreement allows students whom have completed an associate degree to transfer to corresponding bachelor’s degrees

WATCLenexa, Kan. — August 13, 2014 — Wichita is sometimes considered the “Air Capital of the World,” which is why it makes sense that Wichita Area Technical College (WATC) houses the number one ranked aviation program in the nation. But the school is so much more than that, it has more than 75 programs of study. Recently WATC signed an articulation agreement with Grantham University in which its associate degree graduates can take their education even further by transferring to the 100 percent online university.

The articulation agreement is a 2+2 bachelor completion program. WATC students who have completed any associate degree with at least a 2.0 GPA can transfer into Grantham’s Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies program. Additionally, students who have earned their degrees in the following areas can transfer into a corresponding bachelor’s degree at Grantham:

  • Associate of Applied Science Business Administration (Accounting) to Bachelor of Science Accounting or Bachelor of Science Business Administration or Bachelor of Science Business Management
  • Associate of Applied Science Business Administration (Banking/Finance) to Bachelor of Science Business Administration or Bachelor of Science Business Management
  • Associate of Applied Science Police Science to Bachelor of Arts Criminal Justice
  • Associate of Applied Science Robotics to Bachelor of Science Computer Engineering Technology or Bachelor of Science Electronics Engineering Technology

Eligible members of WATC’s faculty and staff have the opportunity to continue their education through Grantham at a reduced tuition rate for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.

“Between WATC’s dedication to providing their students with a quality education while maintaining one of the lowest tuition price points in the state, and Grantham’s commitment to helping students meet their educational goals in a flexible online environment, we feel that this articulation agreement is a huge benefit for both schools. We look forward to a long relationship with WATC in which we can work together to help all of our students change their lives for the better, move into new career fields and enjoy success on their jobs,” said Dr. Marilyn Bartels, Grantham’s provost.

“We are excited about this opportunity for WATC students to continue their education in Business, Robotics/Engineering and Criminal Justice with Grantham University.  WATC and Grantham University have a common vision to ensure students have an opportunity to change their lives, the ability to earn their degrees with a flexible approach to learning, and create a meaningful and productive career pathway.  As we work together to create a workforce for our region in these critical areas we are honored to partner with Grantham University,” said Sheree Utash, WATC’s vice president of academic affairs.

Grantham University has been helping working adults achieve their educational goals for more than 63 years. Grantham’s largest school, the Mark Skousen School of Business, offers certificates, associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in fields ranging from accounting to human resources to business management.
