Lenexa, Kan., Jan. 4, 2016 -- Grantham University commemorated its 66th birthday on January 2, 2017. Grantham is a 100 percent online university whose focus on “Serving those who Serve®” extends beyond its more than 17,000 students, to numerous corporate and government partners, and philanthropic organizations across the United States. Following its 2016 emphasis on community service and new ways to help students achieve their goals, Grantham’s service-focused mission will continue throughout 2017 and the years to come.

“We had so many of our faculty and staff giving of themselves to the community in 2016. It just emphasized how generous and committed to serving those who serve our Grantham team really is. They live our commitment to service inside and outside our campus community,” said Dr. Cheryl Hayek, interim university president and provost. “I look forward to building on what we did last year, not only for 2017, but the years to follow, and see what new, impactful ways we can find to give back to our students and community.”

In 2016, Grantham University employees participated in numerous donation drives, devoted more than 550 volunteer community service hours to 25 organizations, and raised over $20,000 for local charity organizations. Also last year, the university launched new in-demand academic programs, received additional programmatic recognition from accrediting bodies, introduced comprehensive career services programs, and further elevated its engagement with the active military and veteran community.
