Medical Administrative Assistant Program Special Considerations

Students in the MAA Program are required to meet certain requirements for enrollment and graduation that will incur costs not covered by the Resource Fee.

A Chromebook/laptop/desktop PC or tablet is required for all students in the MAA certificate program. Students have the ability to purchase a qualifying Chromebook through Grantham University. The cost of the Chromebook is NOT included in the resource fee; however, Student Financial Services (SFS) can provide payment options available under the student’s funding model. Grantham will not offer any technical support for the Chromebooks sold through the University.* Students should also note that Chromebooks are not compatible with all Grantham University programs. Students will not be allowed to enroll in the MAA Certificate program without providing verification of either: (A) purchase of the Chromebook through the Grantham University Bookstore or (B) proof of possession of equipment such as a laptop, desktop PC or tablet.

*If you need support with your Chromebook, including online chat with an HP technician, support telephone numbers and HP service center locations, please go to www.hp.com/support

Additionally, students in the MAA Program must register for and complete the Medical Administrative Assistant Certification Exam. This includes finding a local testing site, making travel arrangements to the testing site and sitting in-person for the exam. The cost of the exam is covered by the Resource Fee; however, related expenses (childcare, travel, etc.) are not covered by the Resource Fee and are the sole responsibility of the student. Students who do not register for and complete the exam will not graduate.

To lower your cost of education, the program offers a special Hero tuition of $250 per credit hour (for both undergraduate and graduate programs!), plus complimentary textbooks and software, and no technology fees. Grantham further reduces your out-of-pocket expense through scholarship opportunities and credit for military training, experience and prior college coursework.
