Grantham has been a leader in the field of distance education for adults since its founding in 1951

LENEXA, Kan. – July 5, 2016 – The Adult Learner’s Guide to Online Education is the latest online resource geared toward adult learners released by Grantham University. Grantham is a 65-year-old institution delivering accredited online degree programs and certificates to working adults, active-duty military and veterans around the world.

The 29-page guide offers readers answers to many of the frequently asked questions about pursuing an online degree, while including advice and insights from experts throughout the guide.

“It’s important for adults who are considering advancing their education to explore all the options and to find what will work best for them,” said Dr. Niccole Buckley, D.B.A., Grantham University associate provost. “Online learning provides access to higher education programs that many working adults and military might not otherwise be able to complete.”

The Adult Learner’s Guide to Online Education explores the differences between traditional ground campuses and online programs, dispels common myths about online education, explains how online education works, and provides readers tips for how to make the best decision about what type of program to pursue.

“Grantham University offers students a path forward in their career through accredited, reputable online degree programs and certifications that employers will look for when considering new hires or internal promotions,” Buckley said. “For busy adults, there are a lot of advantages to getting your degree online, such as cost savings and flexibility.”

By walking through each step of the process to get started with an online degree, the guide sheds light on what many students believe to be a daunting process.

“I was very intimidated by the thought of going back to school after such a long break. But the classes are well put together, and the professors make it fun by interacting with the students in the discussion forum,” said James Lloyd, a current Grantham University student.

The guide also outlines many of the services available at Grantham University to help students succeed in their pursuit of an online degree. Anyone interested in reading it can access The Adult Learner’s Guide to Online Education on Grantham University’s website.
